12 Maoists with Rs 46 Lakh Bounty Surrender in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur

  • Twelve Naxalites, including eight women, with a collective bounty of Rs 46 lakh, surrendered in Bijapur, Chhattisgarh.
  • The surrender took place under the Bastar police’s ‘Poona Margem’ initiative and the state government’s rehabilitation policy.
  • Among those who surrendered were Somadu Madkam, Hungi Kunjam, and Payaki Kunjam, each carrying a reward of Rs 8 lakh.
  • The surrendered Naxalites also handed over an AK-47 rifle, two SLRs, gelatin sticks, detonators, gunpowder, and cordex wire.
  • They will receive immediate assistance of Rs 50,000 each and further rehabilitation; 220 Naxalites have surrendered this year in the state.
