130,000 Indians Return from West Asia Amid Escalating Tensions: MEA
•The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) reported that around 130,000 Indian nationals have returned to India since February 28.
•The returns are due to the developing security situation in West Asia, following joint US-Israeli military operations and the killing of Iran’s former Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
•Flight operations from UAE, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Bahrain facilitated the returns, while Kuwait and Iraq's airspaces were affected.
•Efforts are underway to repatriate 15 Indian nationals and the mortal remains of one Indian national, Safesea Vishnu, with two other Indians having passed away in Muscat.
•UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres expressed serious concern over the escalating crisis, urging de-escalation, dialogue, and an immediate end to hostilities.
