Ahmadis Barred from Eid Rites in Pakistan's Punjab, JAP Cites Rights Violations

Police in Pakistan's Punjab province prevented the Ahmadi minority community from performing religious rites on Eid.
•
Jamaat Ahmadiyya Pakistan (JAP) stated that police forcibly evacuated and locked Ahmadi places of worship in various districts.
•
JAP spokesman Amir Mahmood confirmed incidents in Gujranwala, Sialkot, Faisalabad, and Sargodha districts.
•
The actions are a direct violation of the Constitution of Pakistan, Supreme Court jurisprudence, and Article 18 of the UDHR.
•
JAP demands that constitutional guarantees of religious freedom be reflected in administrative actions.
