Arunachal Marathon Boosts Women's Empowerment Ahead of IWD

•Arunachal Pradesh govt organised a marathon in Itanagar on Mar 7 to promote women's empowerment and well-being, ahead of International Women’s Day.
•The Women and Child Development (WCD) Department event saw large participation from women, including students and senior citizens.
•Featured a 10-km competitive marathon and a 5-km fun run; WCD commissioner Nyali Ete and director Chadan Tangjang participated.
•WCD Commissioner Nyali Ete stated the goal is for women to lead in every sphere, while director Chadan Tangjang urged women to take up sports.
•The event highlighted Mission Shakti, the government's initiative for women's safety and empowerment, and support through 'one-stop centres'.
