Assam Congress MP Pradyut Bordoloi Resigns Ahead of Polls

•Assam’s Lok Sabha MP Pradyut Bordoloi resigned from the Congress party on Tuesday, 20 days before assembly elections.
•Bordoloi sent his resignation letter to AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge.
•A former state cabinet minister and two-time MP from Nagaon constituency, his son is a Congress candidate from Margherita.
•The resignation letter stated, "With an overwhelming sense of sadness today, I hereby tender my resignation from all posts, privileges and the primary membership of the Indian National Congress."
•State party chief Gaurav Gogoi and AICC general secretary Jitendra Singh are meeting with Bordoloi regarding the issue.
