BAFTA Winner 'Boong' Opens National Indian Film Festival of Australia

Manipuri film “Boong”, the first Indian film to win a BAFTA, inaugurated the second National Indian Film Festival of Australia (NIFFA).
•
NIFFA, running from March 18 to July 5, will screen over 32 films in 18 Indian languages across 14 Australian cities.
•
Veteran actor Anupam Kher will receive the International Indian Cinema Icon Award and his film “Tanvi the Great” will screen.
•
Filmmakers Anubhav Sinha and Leena Yadav will be honored with the Nishtha (Dedication) Award.
•
The festival includes a focus on Punjabi cinema and a three-film India-Australia co-production initiative.
