Bengaluru to get second airport; CM Siddaramaiah announces decongestion plan

•Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah announced a second airport for Bengaluru in the 2026-27 state Budget.
•Aimed at decongesting Kempegowda International Airport, the country's third largest.
•Feasibility report to be prepared after technical advice from Airports Authority of India (AAI).
•AAI officials have already visited three shortlisted sites: two on Kanakapura Road and one on Kunigal Road.
•Rs 1,593 crore released for seven domestic airports; Rs 200 crore earmarked for current year.
