BPCL Unveils 71 MW Solar Plant in Prayagraj, Boosts Green Energy Portfolio
- •Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) commissioned a 71 MW solar power plant in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh.
- •The plant has an installed capacity of 71 MWp (DC) / 52 MW (AC) and will generate 103.61 million units of green electricity annually.
- •It is estimated to reduce carbon emissions by 75,150 tonnes per year, equivalent to planting nearly 12.5 million trees.
- •Spread across 210 acres, the facility features 129,000 solar modules and is connected to the grid via a 132 kV transmission line.
- •Green power will supply BPCL’s refineries in Mumbai, Bina, and Kochi, supporting cleaner operations and reducing carbon intensity.
