CBI Nabs Kanpur Recruiter for 'Cyber-Slavery' Scam Abroad

CBI arrested Kanpur-based recruiter Krishna Kumar Lakhwani for sending Indians to 'cyber-slavery' compounds in South East Asia.
•
Lakhwani allegedly lured young persons with fake job advertisements for data entry or customer support roles, charging 300-400 USD.
•
Victims were transported via Delhi to Cambodia, where they were coerced into participating in cyber-fraud operations.
•
His mobile phone revealed videos of him interviewing candidates and images of passports of multiple Indian recruits for these scam centres.
•
Victims faced intimidation, passport confiscation, wrongful confinement, and were forced into cybercriminal activities under abusive conditions.
