CBSE to Reintroduce On-Screen Marking for Class 12 Board Exams from 2026

• CBSE will implement On-Screen Marking (OSM) for Class 12 Board exams starting 2026 to boost efficiency, transparency, and accuracy.
• OSM is a digital system where scanned answer sheets are evaluated by teachers on computers, with automated mark calculation.
• Class 10 answer books will continue to be evaluated physically for now, as per the circular dated February 9.
• Benefits include eliminating totalling errors, faster evaluation, reduced manual intervention, and teachers evaluating from their schools.
• Schools need to prepare infrastructure like computer labs, reliable internet, and power supply; CBSE will provide training and support.
