Chip Taylor, 'Angel of the Morning' Songwriter, Dies at 86

Chip Taylor, renowned songwriter of 'Angel of the Morning' and 'Wild Thing', passed away on Monday at 86.
•
His death was announced by friend Billy Vera; Taylor was in hospice care, no immediate cause of death given.
•
Taylor was the brother of actor Jon Voight and uncle to Angelina Jolie, inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2016.
•
His song 'Wild Thing' was a No. 1 hit for the Troggs in 1966 and famously covered by Jimi Hendrix.
•
'Angel of the Morning' became a No. 4 hit for Juice Newton in 1981 and was covered by many artists.
