Cleric Brutally Beaten by Mob in UP's Muzaffarnagar; 5 Booked, 1 Arrested

• Mufti Abdul Wahab, 28, was allegedly assaulted by a group of men in Muzaffarnagar's Sarwat locality on Sunday.
• The cleric was stopped on his motorcycle, subjected to objectionable remarks, and then attacked with sticks and a bat.
• Critically injured, Wahab was initially taken to a district hospital and later referred to a higher medical centre.
• Police registered a case against Lavi, Basant, Harish, Aditya, and Rishabh; Lavi has been arrested, and efforts are on to trace others.
• Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind condemned the incident as a "provocative act" and demanded strict action; security has been tightened in the area.
