CM Mann: Punjab Police Fights Pak-Sponsored Terror, Guards Border
•Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann stated Punjab Police is combating Pakistan-sponsored terrorism and vigilantly guarding the International Border, calling it "not just state's police but the nation's police."
•Mann highlighted that Punjab, as a border state, faces frequent attempts by Pakistan-backed elements to disturb peace through anti-social activities and drone intrusions.
•A total of 2,577 newly recruited personnel formally joined the Punjab Police during a passing out parade.
•Since March 2022, over 12,010 police personnel have been recruited, with an additional 1,746 constables nearing completion and 3,400 more personnel to be recruited soon.
•The state government has allocated Rs 1,100 crore to upgrade the police force with AI-based systems, specialized technical units, and a modernized Anti-Narcotics Task Force.
