CM Mann: Punjab Police Fights Pak-Sponsored Terror, Guards Border

• Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann stated Punjab Police is combating Pakistan-sponsored terrorism and vigilantly guarding the International Border, calling it "not just state's police but the nation's police."
• Mann highlighted that Punjab, as a border state, faces frequent attempts by Pakistan-backed elements to disturb peace through anti-social activities and drone intrusions.
• A total of 2,577 newly recruited personnel formally joined the Punjab Police during a passing out parade.
• Since March 2022, over 12,010 police personnel have been recruited, with an additional 1,746 constables nearing completion and 3,400 more personnel to be recruited soon.
• The state government has allocated Rs 1,100 crore to upgrade the police force with AI-based systems, specialized technical units, and a modernized Anti-Narcotics Task Force.
