Curfew Imposed in Southern Nepal After Violent Clashes Between Two Groups

Curfew enforced in parts of Rautahat district, Madhesh province, southern Nepal, following clashes.

Dispute on Thursday evening escalated into violent clashes, injuring at least eight people, including two policemen.

Chief District Officer Dinesh Sagar Bhusal imposed curfew in Gaur and other areas from Saturday 1:00 pm.

Clashes began when one community allegedly obstructed a wedding procession playing music in front of a mosque.
