Delhi Government Launches Rs 646 Crore CCTV Project for Women's Safety

  • The Delhi government plans a phase-wise installation of advanced CCTV cameras across the city to enhance women's safety.
  • The project, estimated at Rs 646.41 crore, was announced by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta in her budget speech last year.
  • A control command centre at MSO building near ITO will receive feeds from 49,900 IP Bullet CCTV cameras and 100 ANPR cameras.
  • Cameras will be installed at identified dark spots, equipped with SD cards, infrared vision, and powered by solar panels or Lithium-ion batteries.
  • The project includes 17,000 metre-long poles for better coverage and over 12,000 UPS units for uninterrupted power.
