Delhi's Chandrawal Water Plant to Boost Supply by 2026: CM Gupta

• Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced the 105 MGD Chandrawal water treatment plant is expected to be commissioned in 2026.
• The project, approved in 2012, faced significant delays and cost escalation of nearly Rs 400 crore due to tender issues and non-compliance with JICA guidelines.
• The new plant aims to enhance the quality and reliability of drinking water for approximately 11% of Delhi's population, covering 92 sq km.
• Alongside the plant, Rs 1,331 crore is allocated for replacing water supply and distribution pipelines across nine Assembly constituencies.
