Delhi to Merge 3 Hospitals into AIIMS-like 'Super Medical Hub'
•Delhi government plans to integrate Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital, Delhi State Cancer Institute, and Rajiv Gandhi Super Speciality Hospital.
•The merger aims to create an autonomous 'super medical hub' on the lines of AIIMS, modernizing public healthcare and ensuring efficient resource use.
•Initiative addresses uneven patient load; Rajiv Gandhi Hospital has 400 unused beds while Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital operates over capacity.
•Hospitals will specialize: Rajiv Gandhi for super-specialities, Delhi State Cancer Institute for oncology, and Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital for general departments.
•Institute of Human Behaviour and Allied Sciences (IHBAS) to be developed as 'NIMHANS-2'; 75 acres of its land transferred to Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital for new infrastructure.
