Tripura inks deal with GNRC for super-specialty hospital; boosts healthcare

•Tripura government signed an MoU with Guwahati Neurological Research Centre (GNRC) to establish a super-specialty hospital in Hapania, West Tripura.
•Earlier, a pact was made with Srija Hospitals and Research Institute (Imphal) for another super-specialty hospital and medical college at RK Nagar.
•An MoU with AIIMS, New Delhi, aims to streamline services at Govind Ballabh Pant Hospital (GBP); ICU beds to increase from 156 to 326.
•GBP hospital now connected to AIIMS, New Delhi, via telemedicine; new 16-bed ICU for respiratory issues and a trauma centre ICU made operational.
•State Cabinet discussed establishing a medical university to regulate institutions and reduce patient referrals.
