Delhi's Summer Power Demand to Soar Past 9,000 MW Mark

•Delhi's peak electricity demand is projected to exceed 9,000 MW this summer, a significant rise from last year's 8,442 MW.
•BRPL discom areas (South and West Delhi) anticipate demand reaching around 3,997 MW, up from 3,798 MW last summer.
•BYPL discom areas (East and Central Delhi) expect peak demand to touch approximately 1,991 MW, compared to 1,824 MW last year.
•This projected demand marks over a 300% increase from 2002's 2,879 MW and is expected to cross 10,000 MW by 2028-2029.
•The city first breached the 7,000 MW mark in 2018, recording 7,016 MW.
