Delhi's Summer Power Demand to Soar Past 9,000 MW Mark

Delhi's peak electricity demand is projected to exceed 9,000 MW this summer, a significant rise from last year's 8,442 MW.
•
BRPL discom areas (South and West Delhi) anticipate demand reaching around 3,997 MW, up from 3,798 MW last summer.
•
BYPL discom areas (East and Central Delhi) expect peak demand to touch approximately 1,991 MW, compared to 1,824 MW last year.
•
This projected demand marks over a 300% increase from 2002's 2,879 MW and is expected to cross 10,000 MW by 2028-2029.
•
The city first breached the 7,000 MW mark in 2018, recording 7,016 MW.
