Andhra Power Gears Up for Summer Surge: 280 MU Demand Expected by May 2026

Andhra Pradesh power utilities are preparing for a significant surge in electricity demand this summer.
•
Daily demand is projected to reach 280 million units (MU) by May 2026, with peak demand hitting 14,500 MW.
•
Special Chief Secretary K Vijayanand directed utilities to ensure uninterrupted and reliable supply across the state.
•
The state recorded its highest ever consumption of 274.6 MU on March 7, with a peak demand of over 14,000 MW.
•
Utilities advised to plan procurement for anticipated 400 MW early morning deficits and monitor generation sources.
