Disha Patani, PETA Gift Mechanical Elephant to Kerala Temple
- •Actor Disha Patani and PETA India donated a life-size mechanical elephant, Thodathra Kalapattu Devi Dasan, to Thodathra Kalapattu Sree Bhadrakali Temple in Thrissur, Kerala.
- •The three-meter-tall, 500-kilogram robotic elephant was unveiled at the shrine on Saturday.
- •This is the 20th robotic elephant donated by PETA India to temples, and the 11th in Kerala, recognizing the temple's decision to not use live elephants.
- •The mechanical elephant, made of rubber, fibre, metal, mesh, foam, and steel, is powered by five motors and can perform various elephant-like movements.
- •CPI MLA E T Taison Master and Temple President Madhu V welcomed the initiative, highlighting its role in protecting animals and continuing traditions compassionately.
