ECI Launches Extensive EVM/VVPAT Awareness Campaign in Poll-Bound States

• The Election Commission of India (ECI) initiated an EVM and VVPAT awareness campaign in Assam, Kerala, Puducherry, Tamil Nadu, and West Bengal.
• The campaign aims to familiarize voters with the functioning of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) units.
• Over 1.20 lakh electors participated in EVM Demonstration camps, with over 1.16 lakh casting mock votes.
• The campaign utilizes EVM Demonstration Centres (EDCs) and Mobile Demonstration Vans (MDVs) to reach voters in both urban and rural areas.
• In West Bengal, the Chief Electoral Officer announced a revised schedule for the SIR process, with the final electoral roll to be published on February 28.
