ECI Launches EVM-VVPAT Awareness Drive in Poll-Bound States

• Election Commission of India (ECI) is conducting an extensive awareness campaign in poll-bound states and UTs: Assam, Kerala, Puducherry, Tamil Nadu, and West Bengal.
• The campaign aims to familiarize voters with Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) units.
• Awareness is spread through EVM Demonstration Centres (EDCs) at DEO and revenue subdivision headquarters, and Mobile Demonstration Vans (MDVs).
• Over 1.20 lakh electors participated in demonstrations, with more than 1.16 lakh casting mock votes.
• The initiative seeks to boost voter confidence, clarify doubts, and ensure transparency in the electoral process by reaching both urban and rural areas.
