Forced Conversion in UP: Four Booked, One Arrested in Pratapgarh Case

•Police in Pratapgarh, UP, registered a case against four individuals for alleged forced religious conversion and other offenses.
•The action followed a complaint by Santosh Shukla, who claimed he was confined for 10 years, forced to work, and assaulted.
•Shukla alleged his religion was changed without consent, his name altered to Sher Ali Khan, and a forged Aadhaar card created.
•He reported an attempt to escape on February 20, during which he was intercepted, taken back, and assaulted.
•Badrulzama has been arrested, and efforts are underway to apprehend the remaining accused.
