GeM Upgrades Portal for Future-Ready Public Procurement, CEO Mihir Kumar Announces

  • CEO Mihir Kumar stated that a future-ready platform will be rolled out this year, designed as a "data lake."
  • The upgrade aims to scale the platform to manage 5 to 10 times the current data volume, ensuring ease of selling and buying.
  • Launched on August 9, 2016, GeM has facilitated over Rs 17.33 lakh crore in government procurement.
  • GeM currently serves over 1.5 lakh government buyers and 62 lakh sellers, offering a wide range of products and services.
