Government Buys Back Rs 13,788 Crore G-Secs in RBI Switch Auction
•The Government of India repurchased government securities (G-secs) worth Rs 13,787.701 crore through an RBI switch auction.
•Bonds worth Rs 13,646.896 crore were issued in exchange for the repurchased securities.
•The repurchased securities were scheduled to mature in the next financial year, including various GS 2026 and GS 2027 bonds.
•New bonds issued include 6.92 per cent GS 2039, 7.50 per cent GS 2034, 6.57 per cent GS 2033, and 8.32 per cent GS 2032.
•This is the third switch auction this month, aiming to ease redemption pressure and manage Rs 5.47 lakh crore bond maturities in the next fiscal year.
