Haryana Chief Secretary: 'Significant' Progress in Yamuna Clean-up Efforts
•Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi reports "significant improvement" in Yamuna clean-up, citing progress in wastewater treatment, industrial compliance, and sewerage infrastructure.
•Nearly 1000 MLD of wastewater from 11 major drains is now treated out of 1632 MLD, with regular water quality monitoring underway.
•Haryana has 91 operational STPs (1543 MLD capacity), with 3 under construction, 9 upgrading, and 9 new ones proposed to boost treatment capacity.
•Industrial wastewater management improved with 17 operational CETPs, 2 upgrading, and 8 new ones proposed; most industries comply with environmental norms.
•Sewerage network in 34 Yamuna catchment towns is near completion, with 1626.6 km laid and the remaining 5.4 km in Faridabad due by Dec 2026.
