Haryana CM Saini Releases Rs 68.34 Cr Grant for 602 Gaushalas; Boosts Cow Protection
•Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini released a Rs 68.34 crore fodder grant for 602 registered cow shelters statewide during a program in Bhatgaon, Sonipat.
•This latest release increases the total government grant for registered gaushalas over the past 11 years to more than Rs 525.75 crore.
•The number of registered cow shelters in Haryana has significantly grown from 215 in 2014 to 697 currently, reflecting increased focus on cow protection.
•The state government is promoting self-reliance through initiatives like installing solar power plants (330 installed, target all by 2026-27) and providing electricity at a subsidised rate of Rs 2 per unit.
•Other measures include regular veterinary services, e-rickshaws for product marketing, two cow sanctuaries, and incentive schemes (Rs 5,000-Rs 20,000) for indigenous breeds like Hariana, Sahiwal, and Belahi under Rashtriya Gokul Mission.
