Hemkund Sahib Gurdwara to Open May 23: World's Highest Shrine Welcomes Devotees
•The doors of Sri Hemkund Sahib Gurdwara in Uttarakhand, the world's highest-altitude gurdwara, will open for devotees on May 23.
•Narendrajit Singh Bindra, President of the Sri Hemkund Sahib Management Trust, announced the date after a meeting with Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan.
•Discussions were held regarding pilgrimage arrangements, with Bardhan assuring cooperation and directing local administration for appropriate facilities.
•The Trust provides free accommodation and meals at its dharamshalas along the route, while 'Langar' is served at the gurdwara.
•Situated at 15,200 feet in Chamoli, the gurdwara closes annually in October due to heavy snowfall and is revered as Guru Gobind Singh's 'tapsthali'.
