Himachal CM Orders Fourth Phase of BPL Survey from Feb 1, 2026
- •Himachal Pradesh CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu directed the Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Department to start the fourth phase of the BPL identification survey from February 1, 2026.
- •The survey aims to ensure all eligible families benefit from government welfare schemes, with a total of five phases planned.
- •In the first three phases, 59,829 BPL families have been identified across the state, with significant numbers in Chamba, Kangra, and Mandi districts.
- •Eligibility criteria include orphans up to 27, households with members over 59, disabled members aged 27-59, and women-headed families without adult male members.
- •Families with members suffering from chronic diseases, those who worked 100 days under MGNREGA, and beneficiaries of housing schemes are also eligible.
Why It Matters: Himachal Pradesh will launch the fourth phase of its BPL survey in 2026 to include all eligible families.
