Himachal CM Sukhu Orders Fourth Phase BPL Survey for Eligible Families

  • Himachal Pradesh CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu directed the Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Department to launch the fourth phase of the BPL identification survey from February 1, 2026.
  • The survey aims to ensure all eligible families, including orphans, elderly, disabled, and women-headed households, are included in the BPL list to access government welfare schemes.
  • Families with members suffering from chronic diseases (cancer, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, muscular dystrophy, hemophilia) or permanent disability are also eligible.
  • Households that completed at least 100 days of work under MGNREGA in the previous financial year and those receiving housing scheme assistance are also to be included.
  • The first three phases have already identified 59,829 BPL families across various districts like Kangra (10,807), Mandi (12,045), and Chamba (13,786).
