Holy Devnimori Relics of Lord Buddha to be Exhibited in Sri Lanka
- •The Holy Devnimori Relics of Lord Buddha will have their first international exposition in Colombo, Sri Lanka, from February 4-11.
- •These sacred relics were excavated from Devnimori, Gujarat, and are currently held by Maharaja Sayajirao University, Baroda, in Vadodara.
- •The exposition, announced by PM Narendra Modi, will be held at Gangaramaya Temple, Colombo, and open for public veneration from February 5.
- •India has previously sent Buddha relics for expositions abroad, including to Bhutan in November and Thailand in February-March 2024.
- •The relics date back to the 4th-5th century BC and were found during an excavation at Piprahwa by the Archaeological Survey of India.
