PM Modi Welcomes Buddha Relics Exposition in Sri Lanka, Highlights Spiritual Bonds

• PM Narendra Modi thanked Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake for inaugurating the exposition of sacred Devnimori Relics at Colombo's Gangaramaya Temple.
• The relics, sent from India, are part of a cultural and spiritual initiative to strengthen ties between the two nations.
• The holy relics of Lord Buddha, preserved at The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, are on public display in Colombo from February 4-10, 2026.
• A high-level Indian delegation, including Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat and Deputy CM Harsh Sanghavi, accompanied the relics.
• The Devnimori relics, discovered in Gujarat, are considered an archaeological treasure and a symbol of Lord Buddha's teachings.
