IEX Power Trade Surges 30% YoY in Feb; Daily Volumes Hit Record 448 MU

Indian Energy Exchange (IEX) recorded its highest-ever daily average electricity volume of 448 MU in February 2026.
•
Total monthly traded volume reached 12,550 MU, marking a 30.4% year-on-year increase.
•
Market clearing prices in the Day-Ahead Market (Rs 3.58/unit) and Real-Time Market (Rs 3.59/unit) declined by over 18% YoY.
•
Real-Time Electricity Market volumes grew 51.7% to 4,379 MU; Day-Ahead Market rose 22.7% to 6,588 MU.
•
Green energy markets saw 46.3% YoY growth with 808 MU traded, and REC volumes increased by 15.2%.
