• Indian High Commissioner Pranay Verma paid a courtesy call on Bangladesh’s Local Government Minister Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.
• Discussions focused on strengthening local governance, rural development, rural economy, agricultural cooperatives, and grassroots financial empowerment.
• Verma emphasized people-to-people ties and India's readiness for positive, constructive, and forward-looking cooperation.
• He also met Home Affairs Minister Salahuddin Ahmed, Law Minister Md Asaduzzaman, Foreign Minister Khalilur Rahman, and Minister of State Shama Obaed Islam.
• India expressed willingness to work with the new Bangladesh government to strengthen people-centric cooperation based on mutual interest and benefit.
