India-Japan Boost Economic Ties at 7th CEPA Meet in Tokyo

• The 7th India-Japan Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) Joint Committee Meeting was held in Tokyo on March 2.
• Co-chaired by Rajesh Agrawal (Secretary, Department of Commerce) and Japan's Senior Deputy Minister, the meeting reviewed CEPA implementation and discussed strengthening bilateral economic engagement.
• Agrawal met METI Vice Minister, emphasizing diversified trade, investment, and leveraging economic complementarities between the two nations.
• He highlighted India's export potential in textiles, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, and services to Japan, stressing the need for a balanced trade relationship.
• A Trade and Investment Roadshow, organized by the Embassy of India, CII, and Keidanren, promoted India's conducive policy environment and CEPA's stable framework.
