India's First: Deaf and Mute Trained in Sign Language Mediation in MP

Madhya Pradesh State Legal Services Authority (MPSLSA) trained persons with hearing and speech impairment in mediation.

This is a first-of-its-kind initiative in India, using sign language for dispute resolution.

The five-day program in Indore trained 30 participants, including 25 deaf and mute professionals, for 40 hours.

Chief Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva highlighted the inclusive approach to dispute resolution.

Justice Vivek Rusia emphasized integrating hearing and speech-impaired individuals into mainstream mediation.
