• Kerala government requested public sector oil companies to relax restrictions on commercial LPG supply due to shortage caused by West Asia conflict.
• State Civil Supplies Minister G R Anil forwarded the request to Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri.
• Oil companies (IOCL, BPCL, HPCL) will prioritize supply to essential sectors like old age homes, hospitals, schools, and public hotels.
• A war room has been set up in the Civil Supplies Commissionerate to coordinate efforts and monitor daily supply data.
• Strict measures, including squads and legal action under LPG Control Order, are in place to prevent black marketing and hoarding of cylinders.
