Kerala Urges Oil PSUs to Relax Commercial LPG Supply Restrictions Amid Shortage

Kerala government requested public sector oil companies to relax restrictions on commercial LPG supply due to shortage caused by West Asia conflict.

State Civil Supplies Minister G R Anil forwarded the request to Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri.
•
Oil companies (IOCL, BPCL, HPCL) will prioritize supply to essential sectors like old age homes, hospitals, schools, and public hotels.
•
A war room has been set up in the Civil Supplies Commissionerate to coordinate efforts and monitor daily supply data.
•
Strict measures, including squads and legal action under LPG Control Order, are in place to prevent black marketing and hoarding of cylinders.
