Leopard Captured in Dudhwa Buffer Zone After Killing Pets; To Be Released
•
A female leopard was captured in the south Nighasan forest range of Dudhwa National Park’s buffer zone in Lakhimpur Kheri, UP.
•
The leopard had been sighted near Govindnagar Farm and Biharipurwa since Thursday and killed a dog and domestic pets on Friday.
•
Forest officials set cages near Biharipurwa and successfully captured the big cat on Friday night.
•
Nighasan Sub-Divisional Officer Manoj Tiwari confirmed the leopard is a healthy 4-5 year old female.
•
As it caused no human casualties, the leopard is fit to be released back into the forests after examination.
