Man Trampled to Death by Wild Elephant in Jharkhand's Latehar District

An elderly man, Tibhru Ganjhu, was trampled to death by a wild elephant in Bhandar Toli village, Latehar district, Jharkhand.
•
The incident occurred around 10 pm on Thursday when Ganjhu went outside his home to relieve himself.
•
A wild elephant that had strayed from the forest suddenly attacked him, confirmed by Chandwa forest range officer Nand Kumar Mehta.
•
A forest team provided immediate relief of Rs 40,000 to the next of kin of the deceased.
•
The Jharkhand government offers Rs 4 lakh compensation for deaths in elephant attacks; the remaining amount will be processed.
