Maoist with Rs 5 Lakh Bounty Surrenders in Jharkhand's Latehar

Surendra Lohra alias Tiger ji, a Maoist with a Rs 5 lakh bounty, surrendered to police in Latehar district.
•
Lohra was a 'sub-zonal commander' of the Jharkhand Jan Mukti Parishad (JJMP), a CPI (Maoist) splinter group.
•
He had been involved in Maoist activities for 20 years, starting with CPI (Maoist) before joining JJMP.
•
His wife and children, along with the police, played a crucial role in his surrender.
•
A total of 23 Maoists surrendered in 2025, and five in 2026, according to Inspector General (Palamu) Shailendra Kumar Sinha.
