Morocco's Women's AFCON Pushed to Summer Amidst Hosting Doubts

The Women's Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco has been postponed from March to July 25-August 16.
•
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced the rescheduling due to "unforeseen circumstances" after discussions with FIFA and partners.
•
The tournament was originally set for March 17-April 3, but reports suggested Morocco wished to withdraw from hosting.
•
CAF President Patrice Motsepe had previously opposed a date change, as the event serves as a qualifier for the 2027 Women's World Cup in Brazil.
•
South Africa had offered to step in as an alternative host for the competition.
