Mother-Daughter Duo Arrested in MP for 2016 Kannur Murder After Decade on the Run
•Two women, Parveen Banu (55) and Sakkeena Fathima (32), arrested in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, for the 2016 murder and robbery of 60-year-old Meradan Kunjamina in Kannur, Kerala.
•The mother-daughter duo, originally from New Delhi, allegedly befriended the victim, lured her, brutally stabbed her, and fled with gold and cash.
•They remained absconding for nearly a decade, using fake documents, disposing of phones, and frequently changing locations across multiple Indian states to evade arrest.
•The case, initially registered in 2016, was transferred to the state Crime Branch in 2024, leading to an extensive investigation and their eventual capture.
•The accused were produced before the Judicial First Class Magistrate Court in Kannur and will be taken into police custody for further interrogation.
