Murshidabad Violence: SC Upholds NIA Probe, Rejects Bengal Govt's Plea

•Supreme Court dismissed West Bengal government's plea against a Calcutta High Court order.
•The HC order refused to stay an NIA probe into incidents of violence in Murshidabad district.
•A bench of Chief Justice Surya Kant and Justice Joymalya Bagchi said the high court took a "balanced view".
•The NIA probe, initiated by MHA on January 28, invoked UAPA section 15(1)(a) related to terrorist acts.
•SC had previously asked NIA to justify UAPA invocation to HC and directed WB govt to approach HC with grievances.
