Nagaland Dy CM Patton: No extra fees for police trainees, strict action against officials
•Nagaland Deputy Chief Minister Yanthungo Patton assured the Assembly that no additional funds would be collected from police training candidates.
•Patton vowed to take strict action against officials if any such practices were reported, emphasizing he would not approve a Rs 2,500 collection proposal.
•NPF MLA Achumbemo Kikon raised concerns about a Rs 300 application fee for constable recruitment, which generated Rs 96 lakh from 32,000 applicants.
•Kikon also highlighted reports of candidates being asked to pay extra for basic amenities at training centers, questioning the Home Department's funding.
•Dy CM Patton clarified the Rs 300 application fee is standard but reiterated his firm stance against any additional charges for trainees.
