Nemom Rail Terminal Plan Based on Ground Needs, Says Vaishnaw

• Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw stated the Nemom rail coaching terminal plan is based on ground reports and actual requirements.
• He responded to CPI(M) MP John Brittas' claim that the Ministry drastically reduced the terminal's size.
• Brittas alleged the project, meant to decongest Thiruvananthapuram Central, was reduced from 5 pit lines/10 stabling lines to 2 pit lines/3 stabling lines.
• Vaishnaw countered that no pit line was sanctioned in Kerala during 60 years of Congress and CPI rule.
• He affirmed that Thiruvananthapuram's expansion is underway, and Nemom work is progressing well.
