Odisha Assembly Passes Rs 3.10 Lakh Crore Appropriation Bill Amid Opposition Walkout

Odisha Assembly passed an Appropriation Bill, allowing the state government to spend Rs 3.10 lakh crore for the financial year 2026-27.
•
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi stated the budget estimation is 7% more than the 2025-26 estimates.
•
Rs 1.80 lakh crore is earmarked for Programme Expenditure, making up 58% of the total budget.
•
Capital outlay of Rs 72,100 crore is 6.5% of GSDP and 23.3% of the state budget, among the highest nationally.
•
The state's GSDP is estimated at Rs 11.07 lakh crore, with an expected growth rate of 8% or more; fiscal deficit to be 3.5% of GSDP.
