Odisha Fire Tragedies: 416 Lives Lost Since 2022-23, Minister Informs Assembly

•Odisha Minister Suresh Pujari informed the Assembly that 416 people died in fire accidents across the state over the last three financial years.
•Property worth Rs 27.84 crore and 2,537 houses were damaged in fire incidents during 2022-23, 2023-24, and 2024-25.
•192 deaths occurred in 2022-23, followed by 118 and 106 deaths in the subsequent two financial years.
•An ex gratia of Rs 4 lakh is provided to the next of kin for fire-related deaths under SDRF norms.
•Financial assistance is also provided for injured victims and for complete or partial damage to houses.
