Over 2,800 All India Services Posts Vacant, IAS Faces 1,300 Shortage: Govt

• More than 2,800 posts are vacant across IAS, IPS, and IFoS, as informed by the government in Rajya Sabha.
• The Indian Administrative Service (IAS) alone has 1,300 vacancies out of a sanctioned strength of 6,877.
• The Indian Forest Service (IFoS) is the worst hit with 1,029 vacancies, a 32.2% vacancy rate.
• Overall vacancy rate across the three services is nearly 18.7%, with 2,834 posts unfilled out of 15,169.
• Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Maharashtra show significant IAS officer shortfalls.
