Punjab disburses Rs 395 crore subsidy for CRM machinery to curb stubble burning

•Punjab government disbursed Rs 395 crore subsidy for Crop Residue Management (CRM) machinery in 2025-26.
•The subsidy aims to curb stubble burning in the state.
•5,358 beneficiaries received 50 to 80 per cent subsidy, including Gram Panchayats, CHCs, and individual farmers.
•1,151 new Custom Hiring Centres (CHCs) established by 66 cooperative societies for machinery access.
•Efforts led to a 53 per cent decline in stubble burning cases during Kharif 2025 season.
